Change Log:
Shooting modes in my config and their use:
- MAIN ZSL 📸 - universal photo mode. Suitable for many scenarios. But in the dark it is better to use some of their NS modes (more on this later).
The mode starts in ZSL (the photo is taken immediately after releasing the shutter, like all modes marked ZSL, that is, images are taken from the buffer in advance and then stitched together into a single photo).
- VIBRANT ZSL 🎨 - essentially the same as MAIN ZSL, but has richer colors and slightly higher contrast. The mode is well suited for shooting food, some colored objects to emphasize color, etc.
- Bright ZSL ☀️ - another and final mode in ZSL. Same as MAIN ZSL, but brighter in shadows. You can use it on a bright sunny day if MAIN ZSL seems not bright enough for you.
- HDR NS 🌅 🌃 - a fairly universal mode. It has a wider dynamic range than MAIN ZSL, and is also suitable for darker scenarios like night mode. Since the mode starts in NS (Night Sight), unlike ZSL, the frames are stitched together after pressing the shutter button. The mode is very suitable for static objects, but not so much for moving objects. Therefore, MAIN ZSL behaves more confidently in this regard.
- VIBRANT NS 🎨 🌄 - the same as HDR NS, but has more saturated colors and slightly higher contrast. Also use by analogy with the VIBRANT ZSL mode if you want a more colorful picture.
- MAX HDR NS 🌅 🌉 - a more advanced analogue of HDR NS. Its difference from HDR NS is that it is even lighter in the dark (higher iso), there are more frames in stitching (40) and a slightly longer shutter speed (1/9), so it is ideal for night scenarios. But due to the large number of frames, unlike HDR NS, image processing takes longer, so you need to wait until the end of processing before taking the next frame. In HDR NS you can click frames without waiting for the end of processing. IT IS IMPORTANT! PAY ATTENTION TO THIS!
- SPORT NS 🏃 - mode designed for fast-moving objects (for movement).
It only works in NS (it runs in it). Shutter speed is limited to 1/115. During the day it is even shorter. I recommend using it in sufficient lighting! If the light deteriorates, do not expect good results - after all, a short shutter speed makes itself felt
- DARK HDR NS 🌇 - the same as HDR NS, but it is darker in exposure and shadows - suitable for atmospheric evening photos with signs, for example. Use it if it seems that HDR NS has produced a bright picture at night and you want to tone down the excess lightness. That is, the regime is given for variety.
- ASTRO NS 🌠 - essentially a dual-purpose mode (2 in 1). Used primarily for astro photography. To do this, it is better to put the phone on a tripod, press the astro button in the viewfinder, after which stars will appear on the shutter button (ASTRO has been activated), then press the shutter button and wait until the photo is taken. The time is very long and you decide when to stop filming!
The second purpose of the ASTRO NS mode is shooting in pitch darkness, when even MAX HDR NS will not cope. Here the shutter speed reaches 1/2. To use ASTRO as an extreme night mode, you do not need to turn on the button, but simply shoot in NS and that’s it, while it is advisable not to move the phone, because the likelihood of blur is high.
- ZOOM ZSL 🔍 - this mode is ONLY available on a 10x lens and is used for maximum zoom.
How to use:
- NO NEED to use ZOOM ZSL at 10x. It is intended for 15x and above! (Preferably 20x and above). And this is where it gives an advantage over a simple Main ZSL with a crop. Keep in mind!
- I recommend using it outdoors during the day, or indoors, on some signs too, but not in poor light!
- This mode is not suitable for moving objects due to upscale! It’s more for static.
