How to add presets to Lightroom in .lrtemplate format
- On your computer, open Lightroom and click “Edit” at the top (next to “File”), then select “Preferences”. On Mac, click the Lightroom tab (left of “File”) and choose “Preferences”.
- A new screen will appear with several tabs at the top. Click on “Presets” (the second tab).
- If you have an older version of Lightroom, click on the field titled “Show Lightroom Presets Folder”. If you have the latest version of Lightroom Classic CC, click on the “Show All Other Lightroom Presets” field.
- Double click on “Lightroom”.
- Then double click on “Develop Presets Folder”.
- Copy the files with the .lrtemplate extension into the “Develop Presets” folder.
- You’re done! If Lightroom was open when you copied the presets, close the program and restart it.
Installing presets in the latest version of Lightroom Classic CC (.xmp files)
- On your computer, open Lightroom and click “Edit” at the top (next to “File”), then select “Preferences”. On Mac, click the Lightroom tab (left of “File”) and choose “Preferences”.
- A new window will appear with several tabs at the top, select “Presets” (the second tab).
- Click on the field titled “Show Lightroom Develop Presets”.
- Double click on “Settings”. Paste the downloaded folder containing .xmp files into this folder.
- You’re done! If Lightroom was open when you copied the presets, close the program and restart it.
How to install Lightroom Mobile presets (.DNG files and sync)
If you have an Android device and access to the file system, you can simply copy files from the “XMP mobile” folder to the folder on your phone:
..\Android\data\com.adobe.lrmobile\files\carouselDocuments\00000000000000000000000000000000\Profiles\Settings\UserStyles
If not, follow the instructions below:
- Upload the unpacked folder with .DNG files to your cloud storage (e.g., Dropbox).
- Open Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for Mobile.
- Create a new album with a DNG photo.
- Select a DNG file and click on “Presets” – “Create presets”.
- Check all the elements and give the preset a name (e.g., as in the picture).
- You’re done. Your preset is saved, and you can use it for other photos.

Place in the folder C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Develop Presets\User Presets, and they will be available in the program for processing your image.
For Adobe Photoshop, copy to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings\User Presets, and they will be available in Camera Raw under the presets -> user presets tab.
